International Women's Day

Today is International Women's Day (IWD), first recorded in 1908 in Chicago it is now celebrated in many different countries across the world in many different ways. Some countries treat it more like Valentines or Mother's Day but others use it as a day to celebrate the political and social rights gained by women and to highlight the struggles that still continue. IWD is represented in some countires by wearing a purple ribbon. Check out the google logo today and see some of our modern day feminists including Malala Yousafzai. You can also follow their twitter and see what events are going on.

Thanks for reading and happy IWD! xx
